I have always loved grocery shopping. When I shop I always go down every aisle in the entire store at least twice.
My method is to first have a firm budget, then start in the produce section. Followed by perusing every aisle, then I go to the bakery section for fresh breads and a family treat. Lastly, I hit up the meats, poultry and seafood. All of this while calculating pricing in my head, and looking for sale items and deals. This entire process is enjoyable to me, LOL.
However, once I hit the third trimester in my pregnancy that all changed! Shopping was difficult, so I began to order my groceries online for home delivery. My shopping method was still the same. I still went through the "aisles" a.k.a. categories and scrolled through to seasonal foods and deals. I still went to check through every category several times to make sure I got everything I needed. The one thing I didn't have to do was calculate pricing as it was automatic on my screen.
Today my daughter is 19 months and I still grocery shop online, for my monthly big shopping days. It just makes things so much easier. However, I do visit the grocery store 1 - 2 times a month to pick up fresh produce, bakery items, and little odds and ends. I can not completely cut out the grocery shopping experience because I absolutely love it, and it is great learning opportunities for my daughter when I bring her along. Don't get me wrong, I also love to head to the grocery store solo, so that I can shop and take my time without a wild toddler, or hungry hubby filling the cart with random (and usually horrible) snacks.
